The humble refrigerator cake is proof that life’s greatest joys can also be its simplest. By using a few ingredients and eschewing the need for expensive baking equipment (no oven required!), you can make a gratifying dessert that both the kids and the kids-at-heart can love.
At the Goodwill Market, we believe in making better choices. That’s why for this recipe, we’ll make a healthier version of the much-loved refrigerator cake. Instead of using ordinary graham crackers, we’ll use Gullón Maria biscuits. Because this product is sugar-free and contains high-oleic sunflower oil, we can make a refrigerator cake with just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. These biscuits also have high fiber content that provides a delightful and satisfying crunch to this dessert.
WHAT YOU NEED
Get everything prepped and ready to go! Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make a delightful pan of Fuity Gullón No Bake Cake:
- 3 packs of Gullón Sugar-Free Maria Biscuits (200 grams)
- 3 packs of All-purpose cream (250ml)
- 1 can of condensed milk (300ml)
- 1 can of fruit cocktail
- 2 cups of pineapple chunks
- 1 cup of papaya chunks
- 1 cup of grapes
- 1 cup of mango chunks
- ½ cup of cherries
- A pan or plastic container
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The instructions are simple:
- Get a bowl and put the condensed milk and the all-purpose cream. Combine and mix well.
- On a separate container, drain the contents of the fruit cocktail and keep only the fruits. Add in the pineapple chunks, papaya chunks, mango chunks, grapes, and the cherries
- In the pan, place some Gullón Sugar-Free Maria Biscuits.
- For the remaining areas, pour some crushed Gullón Sugar-Free Maria biscuits
- Place a thick layer of the condensed milk/all-purpose cream mixture on top of the Gullón Sugar-Free Maria Biscuits
- Add the fruits to the condensed milk/all-purpose cream layer
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 until you reach the top of your container. In summary, the layers should be: Whole Maria biscuits, crushed maria biscuits, milk/cream mixture, then fruit cocktail.
- To make the cake even more delightful, add even more fruits or crushed Maria biscuits on top.
- Place the pan on the freezer for about forty-five minutes. Then serve, enjoy, and watch the amazed look on your guests’ faces. — (TGM)
