How To Prepare Your Kids for Face-to-Face Classes

Key Takeaway

Keeping our kids safe is the top priority of us parents. Now that Face to Face Learning is back, how can we protect them?

Face-to-Face Learning is the new challenge we have to deal with in the midst of the pandemic era. And as parents, we have to face it head on for our children.

Staying at home has been the norm for our family in recent years due to the pandemic. And now, people are starting to go back to offices, and our children can now go back to the joy of learning inside the school. Multiple experts have said that it is safe, even beneficial, for our children to be at school. However, as parents, we would always have worries about their health and safety.

We understand that facing change can be at times overwhelming, for us and our children. And at times, we wonder what must be done before going to school. So to help you out, we’ve listed a few things you can do to ease your mind and help them get ready for the new school year.

1. Talk to your child

The only thing constant in the world is change. We’ve gone through multiple cycles of it during our journey to adulthood. However, our children may find it difficult to adapt to going back to the traditional classroom setting from online learning.

Talk to them and ask them about their hopes and aspirations, along with their fears and worries. This would help you prepare what type of support they need, and will reassure them that whatever may happen in this exciting yet scary chapter of their life, you got their backs.

You can ask them about what they want to learn, who they want to meet, and what they want to do. Ask them if they are worried about anything regarding school. Let them know that you are their biggest supporter.

2. Start a healthy, consistent sleep schedule

Going back from school vacation, our children may have developed less than ideal sleeping habits. They may be sleeping less than the recommended 9 hours, or staying up way past their bedtime.

Our kids need a lot of energy to learn at school and play with friends, so getting a good night’s rest is essential to them. Establishing a good routine is the best way for them to get fuel for the school day.

Make sure they sleep early so they can rise early. Limit the use of gadgets, and cut down sugar before going to bed. Read them a good story book and make sure they are relaxed. There are a lot of ways to help them with getting that ideal school sleep schedule, but the most important thing is to be with them and help them.

3. Make safety protocols a habit

Emphasize the benefits of social distancing and sanitizing. We can't stop them from being in contact with their friends and teachers at school, which is why we should do our best to remind them of what they need to do in order to combat COVID-19.

Equip them with tools and knowledge that will help them be the safest they can be outside of your home and give them the armor they need to face the school year with a big smile. Make sure they always have their trusty alcohol sprays so they can keep their hands and items virus and bacteria free.
